Dress Code

In accordance with CCSD Regulation 5131, student dress must not disrupt or detract from the educational environment of the school. Any style or item of clothing which compromises the school-learning environment is not acceptable. The school administration has the right to determine which types of dress or appearance constitutes such a disruption.

Specifically:

  • Shirts are to cover the entire midriff area and have sleeves or straps, which are at least three inches wide and cover the shoulders. Sheer, backless and minimal coverage shirts are prohibited.
  • All shorts, skirts, and dresses must be at least fingertip length. Shorts must be hemmed and have no frayed edges.
  • With the exception of sanctioned school activities or during outdoor physical activities no headgear shall be worn.
  • No clothing bearing controversial or obscene advertising or slogans shall be worn.
  • No spiked or studded clothing is permitted.
  • Caps, hats, coats, mittens, and scarves must be removed when entering the building.
  • Students who come to school dressed inappropriately will be asked to call home for a change of clothes.
