Ms. Johnson (Counselor)
Hello! I am so happy to be joining the Tobler Tiger family this year! I was born and raised in Las Vegas before moving to Reno to attend UNR where I received a Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies. After college I moved home to attend UNLV where I received my masters of education in School Counseling. This year will be my 6th year as an elementary counselor. I have always known I wanted to work with kids and thoroughly enjoy getting to see smiling students everyday! I enjoy getting lost in a good book, cooking and trying new foods and traveling!
Ms. Deason-Poupard (Gate Teacher)
I am so excited to become one of the Tobler Tigers this year as I am the new G.A.T.E. teacher on the team. I have taught first through fifth grade levels. My most recent years have been in fifth grade. My focus as a gifted and talented education teacher is to enrich my students through critical thinking skills, creative projects, and problem solving scenarios while utilizing grade level standards. Positivity and growth of skills help students become confident. This confidence will allow them to persevere through challenging classwork or situations. At this point, "I can" becomes a reality. I am truly privileged to be working with an amazing staff and fantastic students!
Personally, I love to travel and hike. The beach would be my favorite escape, and I also like to try things that I have never done before.
